My Stepfather was one of those guys with rips in his pocket T, grease stained jeans and a smile on his face. He was always fixing something, and it seemed that not much made him happier (other than a fishing pole with a bite on the line). He was all I ever wanted to be as a man, and as a father. Brad Paisley said it best when he sang "I hope I'm at least half the man, that he didn't have to be". I always remember him wiping whatever it was he was doing, or his hands and brow with a blue paisley handkerchief he kept in his back pocket, and it is something that sticks with me to this day. In fact, every time I pull mine out for one reason or another someone around me always comments with a fond memory of their dad, grandfather or some other relative of their past with a smile about how they remember that masculine figure of yore always carrying one. It's almost ubiquitous that the men of the past were prepared with the necessities, and a handkerchief was a must have part of that mini kit. From boo-boos to tears to checking the oil dipstick, a handkerchief has a thousand uses for you to discover.
In honor of the man I was proud to call my Dad, June's Hank of the Month is for him. Playful on one side, and serious when it needs to be... just like Dad. This limited run of 20 hanks is all set and ready for immediate shipping in time for Father's Day on June 18. Not sure what to get Dad? Get him something guaranteed to get a smile, and as useful as his old red toolbox. Act fast, once these 20 are gone, they're gone for good!
A special thanks to the great folks at Kinsmen Brewing for letting me use their bar as a backdrop (and a pit stop... great beer!)
Proudly made in the USA by someone who proudly served it.
