Here at Yellow Birch Outfitters, you know we take organization seriously. It's one of the biggest factors to readiness you have influence over beyond gear selection and training. Taking the time to consider ACCESS to your gear beforehand can mean the difference between an easy, stress free situation and one fraught with frustration as you dig through things trying to beat the clock and find what you need.
This winter, New England was hit with more than a few cold snaps where gloves weren't just a nice luxury to have, they were an absolute necessity. When the gloves are on, access becomes tough. If you need a knife to cut something loose you need to get to it easily. When an emergency requires you have fire NOW, you need access to the kit easily. This was my solution.
Oringially designed around an Opinel No. 8 this medium slipcase can handle knives up to ⅞" wide (like the Victorinox Ranger Swiss Army knife) and up to 4 ¼" long (like the aforementioned Opinel No. 8). A sleeve on the side holds a ferro rod up to a diameter of 5/16" like the fireROD from Exotac. A brass grommet at the top allows you to attach a lanyard to lash it down, or my favorite method of using a loop of paracord in a lark's head knot to wear it around your neck. Let me tell you, if you haven't tried neck carry... I hate that I waited 43 years to do it myself, especially with those ski gloves on I was talking about earlier). The entire case slides effortlessly into your pocket for convenient carry on normal days, ready for whatever you need.
Crafted from Wickett & Craig English Bridle leather (which has been made here in the USA since around the Civil War using good American hides) this little setup is ready to accompany you on adventures for the rest of your days.
So let me ask you... are you organized enough?
Proudly made in the USA by someone who proudly served it.
